Disclaimer — read before you trade
A calculator is a flashlight, not a crystal ball. Here's what our numbers can and cannot tell you.
What the numbers mean here
Estimates, not offers
Every figure — net P&L, ROI, tax due — is a modeled estimate from the inputs you provide. Real outcomes depend on execution, spread, slippage, and rules that change without notice.
Simplifications we make
Fees are flat percentages; slippage and spread aren't modeled. DCA averaging is arithmetic, not lot-accounting (FIFO/LIFO). Tax models use headline rates with a single 365-day long/short split — no brackets, exemptions, or loss offsets.
Highly volatile assets
Crypto prices can move violently in minutes. Any projection computed today can be obsolete before you act on it. Past performance guarantees nothing about future results.
Tax is more than a rate
Real crypto tax treatment depends on jurisdiction, holding period, income character (capital vs income), stacking, airdrops, forks, and loss harvesting. Our single-rate model is a starting point, never a filing.
Not affiliated
CoinMetra is not affiliated with any exchange, blockchain project, or tax authority. Coin names and tickers are used descriptively. Live prices, when fetched, come from a third-party public API.
Where to verify
For binding answers, check your exchange's trade records, your jurisdiction's tax authority guidance, and — for real decisions — a licensed financial or tax professional.
