Why we built this

The problem

Exchange dashboards show position value, not truth. Taker fees, spread, and slippage quietly shave every round trip, and tax apps bury the net under dashboards. A simple "what did I actually make?" turns into spreadsheet archaeology.

What we do

CoinMetra computes single-trade P&L, DCA average cost, break-even price, and country-level tax estimates from one panel. Every number is net of the fees you enter — gross and net side by side so the drag is visible.

How it works

All math runs locally in your browser. No account, no API keys, no trade history uploaded. The optional live-price button fetches a public quote from CoinGecko — nothing else ever leaves your machine.

Our formulas

Net P&L = net proceeds − all-in cost basis. DCA average = total spend ÷ total coins, with a fee-inclusive net average. Tax models use published headline rates for nine jurisdictions with a 365-day long/short split.

What we are not

We are not an exchange, broker, tax advisor, or portfolio tracker. CoinMetra is an independent educational calculator. Your exchange's records and a licensed professional are the source of truth for filings.
